Happy Cambodian New Year!

Cambodian New Year will be this Saturday, April 13th.  It is usually celebrated for three days (April 13-15).  Khmer people will clean their houses and make special, delicious food. Then, they will get dressed up to go to Wat (temple) with food offerings for the Buddhist monks and light incense sticks to pray. These are thought of kind deeds in the hopes for good luck, health, happiness and prosperity in life.

Mrs. Kea-Fajer's students helped present their learning about Cambodia to the 1st graders and 4th grade buddy classroom. The students got to use chopsticks and sample some Asian treats.

Thank you Mrs. Kea-Fajer for bringing this cultural lesson to life every year at Beavercreek Elementary!
