The Space Maker Award recognizes staff members who help create learning environments where students feel safe, welcomed, supported and ready to learn. Simms was nominated for the care, dedication and student-centered approach she brings to Beavercreek Elementary each day.

Through her work, Simms helps make school a place where students can build positive relationships, engage in meaningful learning and feel a sense of belonging. Her contributions reflect the many ways staff members shape students’ daily experiences—not only through instruction, but also through the spaces, routines and connections that help every student succeed.

Simms is one of 10 Oregon City School District staff members recognized during Welcome Back Day for exceptional work that advances the district’s Strategic Plan. Her award celebrates the lasting impact of staff members whose behind-the-scenes and day-to-day contributions help make schools stronger for students, families and colleagues.

Congratulations to Megan Simms, and thank you for helping make Beavercreek Elementary a place where students come first.
